a.) How do I add avatars to the Virtual Places software? 0) Go to a page containing avatars.
1) Right click on the avatar you want. 
2) Select "Save Image As". 
3) Save it in your personal av folder
(if you do not have one you can make one at this time  by selecting "New Folder": Example-VPlaces\exts\gallery\personal).
Note: The new avatars will not work in the gallery folder.
4) Select save.
b.) How do I change my avatar once I have saved it? 1) Right click on your avatar or on "Avatars" from the tool bar. 
2) Select "Edit Identity".
3) Click on "personal" and "change". 
4) Make sure the directory containing the avatar you wish to use is selected, either the stock avatars that came with VP (Gallery)  or your custom ones (Personal Folder). 
5) Select the Avatar you wish to use.
6) Select "ok".
c.) How do I make my own avatars? Programs Needed:
Image Manipulator: Thumbsplus 
Note: You may use any image program you desire thus you will have to learn how to crop the image or resize the image from its help section, they will all vary in how to do this.

You can turn any graphic or part of a graphic into an avatar! 
1) Load the graphic you wish to edit into your image manipulator.
2) Crop and resize or resize the graphic to 48 wide X 64 high. 
3) Once you have the graphic the way you like it, save the graphic in the .GIF format to your personal Avatar folder in your VPlaces/exts/gallery/(personal folder) directory.

d.) How do I add more gestures to the Virtual Places software? 1) Left click on the gesture you want or right click on the gesture you want and select "Save Link As".
2) Save to your VPlaces\exts\gestures\ folder.
3) Press the F5 function key to update and load the new gesture.
e.) How do I make my own gestures? Programs needed:
Gesture Builder: VP Gesture Builder
Image Manipulator: Thumbsplus
WAV Editor: Whatever .wav editor you wish.

You must have a gesture editor in order to make gestures.
You can make either still or animated gestures with or without sound. More to follow...

f.) How do I add more tour buses to the Virtual Places software? 1) Right click on the tour you want.
2) Select "Save As" to your VPlaces\exts\tours folder.
g.) How do I make my own tour buses? Programs Needed:
Image Manipulator: Thumbsplus 

1) Select picture you want and size to a 144 X 64 .gif.
2) Save to your VPlaces\exts\tours folder.

h.) How do I locate someone? VP1 : 
1) Under "Tools" click on "Find". 
2) Type in the name of the user you are trying to locate.
3) You may now "View Identity", "Send IM" or "Go to place" that they are currently located.

VP2 and VPExcite Talk : 
1) Click on "Locate" button on the lower right. 
2) Type in the name of user you are trying to locate. 
3) You may now view the identity, send an IM , or go to the place they are currently located.

i.) How do I IM (interuser message) someone? Three different ways: 
1) Right click on the persons avatar and select "Send Instant Message" and send.
2) Select "tools" and then click on "Send an Instant Message". 
3) After locating someone with the "Find" button under "tools" you can select "Send Instant Message".
j.) How do I link  with someone? 1) You must be on the right side of their avatar. 
2) Click and drag your avatar until you see a bubble appear above your avatar. 
3) Let go and you are linked !
k.) How do I find out about someone? 1) Right click on the person's avatar and select "Identity".
